Remember;
The letter is from you so you need to write in the first person, using first person pronouns
If you are asking questions you need to use question marks
Address and who you are writing to
Also tell Toki something about you so that it does not become a list of questions.

Maths
Today we will still be working on our skills of column addition, adding two 3 digit numbers.

I have put a link to another worksheet for those who are finding this a bit easy to start to answer so different questions.

 Hello everyone,

What a strange day yesterday! I hope that everyone is ready to do some online learning again.

Keep checking the blog, I will be updating it each day.

If you can log into Google classroom, please make sure that you are doing that. If you are finding it too hard then continue learning on the blog or ring the school to let them know that you need a paper pack to do your learning.

Maths

Work these out using the column method that we have been learning in class.

Here is a video that may help;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuGsP1NX78o

Here is an example.

Make sure that you are setting your working out correctly.

English

Yesterday, we planned out new poem (based on Talk us Through it Charlotte). Today I want you to start to write the introduction and the build up.
What you need to remember;
  • Write in verses
  • Use interesting language
  • Capital letters, commas, apostrophes
  • Alliteration

Today you need to say where your character is and what they are doing (e.g. standing behind the stage with their instrument).  Then where they go and some little things that go wrong (e.g. go on stage with their band and their instruments are not tuned and they sound bad).

If it is possible to send a picture and email it to me, that would be great!

Learning tasks if you are isolating

If you are having issues logging into Google Classrooms, please make sure you leave me a message here so that I can try and help or let Miss Kondwani know.

This is what we are doing in class at the moment:

English

Activities:

  1. Learning the text. You could act it out to the adults in your house or learn it with actions.
  2. Write questions that you had when you were reading through the text. Examples; What is special about the friend? Why were they not passing to her?
  3. Make some changes to the text. We thought about changing it to a basketball game where the new character was not very good until the end. Try writing down you new poem.

Talk us through it, Charlotte

Well I shouldn’t’ve been playin’ really
Only there to watch me brother
My friend fancies his friend, y’know.
Anyway they was a man short.

Stay out on the wing, they said
Give ‘em something to think about.
So I did that for about an hour;
Never passed to me or anything.

The ball kind of rebounded to me.
I thought, I’ll have a little run with it.
I mean, they wasn’t passin’ to me
Was they? So off I went.

I ran past the first boy
He sort of fell over.
It was a bit slippery on that grass
I will say that for him.

Two more of ‘em come at me
Only they sort of tackled each other
Collided – arh.*I kept going.
There was this great big fat boy.

One way or another I kicked it
Through his legs and run round him.
That took a time. Me brother
Was shouting, Pass it to me, like.

Well like I said, I’d been there an hour.
They never give me a pass
Never even spoke to me
Or anything. So I kept going.

Beat this other boy somehow
Then there was just the goalie.
Out he came, spreadin’ himself
As they say. I was really worried.

I thought he was going to hug me.
So I dipped me shoulder like they do
And the goalie moved one was, y’know
And I slammed it in the net.

Turned out afterwards it was the winner.
The manager said I was very good.
