The mum in the video will show you how to make a fruit kebab with her son. They do everything in both French and English, so you will find out lots of words for fruit in French. And you can even make the recipe with them! If you want to eat it at the end of the day, you can put it in the fridge to keep fresh.

    Writing
These 2 lessons are based on the clip The Dream Giver which can be found www.literacyshed.com/dreamgiver

lesson 7 I am learning to recount fantasy narratives in the 1st person.

Watch ‘The Dreamgiver’ from 4 min 09 secs until the end.  Discuss how the boy would have been feeling
at the beginning of the clip, when the monster has been defeated and at the end of the film.
You are going to retell this section as if you are the boy and you are going to tell the reader what
happened and how you were feeling

    SPaG 1st and 3rd person

    Task
Watch the section from 4 mins 09 secs until the end of the film. You are going to write the narrative in
the past tense as if they boy is writing down what happened to him in his dream.
Children create their recount in the 1st person and include how they were feeling with the use of at least
one rhetorical question. Use short snappy sentences to create tension.

    Look at the starter below
I stood on the edge of the cliff my eyes covered as I cowered away from the beast before me. was this going to be my last minutes alive? Petrified, I wished for help. It came. Small golden eggs rained down like thunder bolts.............

A challenge -try to include a rhetorical question

Share some examples of newspaper stories. examples of newspapers can be found
Look at the presentational features (briefly) alongside the language features of the text. In particular,
pay attention to, and discuss the role of the opening paragraph.  This is the orientation and it gives the
basic information- the 5 W’s- Who? What? Where? Why? When?

Short task complete the 5 W's for the Dreamgiver

Main task write the headline and orientation ( introduction/ opening paragraph) for the Dreamgiver include all of the 5Ws from the short task. Remember to write in 3rd person.

Look at my example  which doesn't include all the Ws yet.

    Strange Creature Spotted in Sky
At around midnight on the 29th of August, a number of residents from the small town of
Wimborne reported seeing a strange object in the sky above the town.  The witnesses described a
yellow glow zooming towards the orphanage
